My name is Payel Bose. I live & work in the city of joy kolkata, India. I am a full time artist, I do traditional style drawing with charcoal on paper to create realistic drawings. I have been working professionally since 2020. I’ve spent hundreds of hours with all my drawings, I believe every face has a story to tell, if you study it long enough, you will soon find it’s meaning. It brings me closer to the subject.

I try to achieve the realness in my creations. My work highlights the skins with open pores, dark circles, pigmentation, freckles, tones, facial hairs & many more, every little reality. My work celebrates vertibleness. It’s not an escape from reality rather it celebrates existence.

The journey towards photorealism is fun. If you follow me on social media you will have seen I spend a large amount of time with my subjects. It depends on how you see things and how much you can see. Imperfections allow me to see humanity and I find it absolutely beautiful. That’s what I approach with my every single portrait. I hope it will have similar impact on the observers as well.
